In 2003 ,We started toying with an idea to create a furniture piece which is neither a stool nor a cushion.

Our market segment is very niche, aiming at the so called "In betweens".We realised that there is a product gap between the Sofas and the floor cushions.

A product that would be strong enough to sit as a stool when needed and yet also used as a cushion (back cushion) to lean against while watching TV or relaxing.

We ended up naming the product Little rascal due to its playful nature and the marketing approach of the design as a lite hearted product; could be a guide dog waiting in the living room.

The form was chosen because most people will have a direct recognistion and appeal to the shape. Most of all our aim was to have fun creating designs that bring a smile to the face.

When i see Rascal , it reminded me of a time when i was playing Cowboys and Indians with my sisters, attemping to rid on the back of my poor dog named Apache.

The rascal reminded and brings out the child in me, for that i think it has done what it set out to,entertain .
