ABOUT US:

Sumajin is a design based company located in Singapore. We started as an Industrial design service consultant in 2001. We have continued to explore the use of industrial design as a business advantage. Introduced our own product range in 2003 and has since lead to more of our designs being retailed globally.

Sumajin aim at creating an environment that pushes the limit of design ideas and constraints. With more and more projects blurring the boundaries between product and the software environment, it is necessary to utilise an approach that considers both aspects. The product's interaction becomes very critical as part of the design consideration.

The use of design has becomes more important to communicate the product's intent; as many products have similar technologies and functions.

We have chosen to use design to set ourselves apart.

Marcus Ting, an Industrial designer / founder of sumajin pte ltd, has over 10 years of designing experience. After being stationed in Australia for 14 years, he left Australia and started his other designing career in Hong Kong, Malaysia and is currently living in Singapore.

His work has won several awards and was featured in international magazines such as Blue Print, AXIS and ID magazine. He was awarded the winner of Design Distinction for his product "Smartwrap" (International Design magazine 2002).

His projects are diverse in nature from servicing project brands such as Hewlett Packard, Singapore Technologies, SCJohnson, Razer to name a few in the consumer electronics.

It is only recently that he resume his passion for interior products by creating his own furniture pieces, exploring new ideas and launching his own products range.

Recently launched in 2007 are products for 3 new categories: Music accessories, Laptop accessories and Apparels.Its a new avenue for sumajin to explore and introduce fresh ideas.
