I would prefer to travel around Taiwan.Its okay to allow for 2 days in Taipei as the city is very much a modern city.We prefer to travel to experience the country.On our recent trip, we travelled furthest south to Kenting.Visited hot spring hotels at Beitou which is near Taipei. There is also Wulai hot spring hotels reacheable by the MTR line.

If you been to Taipei its hard not to notice the grand Taipei 101. Check out the market place supermarket where visitors can purchase a wide variety of taiwanese food products. This time around one side of the building is claded with a graphic treatment of a gaint tree.

It seems that we frequently travel at the start of spring as the Cherry blossom was in full blum at the Yangmingshan National Park which is located in the north of Beitou. Location is very near Taipe city area.

We all know that Taipei sky like is spotted with many modern building. But what i like about the city is that it still has its authentic architectural feel.

We seen a number of samsung advertising around ShiLin market. ShiLin is a popular night market for tourist and locals.

Looks like the western fast food of donuts doing well. I specially like the more creative approach to make their brand more memorable by using cute characters.

It an opportunity when travelling to sample unqiue street food. especailly good when the weather gets cold at night or anytime it is a good.Must have it wilth the chilli sauce.

Smelly Tofu can not be missed. The fermented tofu has a distinct smell just follow your nose to find the road side vendor. A very popular snack. Ask for extra pickled cabbage.

Checkout the train station's ticketing counters housed in a very very large hall space.

We prefer to travel by train for long distance travel when possible. The train sysytem is okay for travelling to smaller cities.

From the picture you may have notice a crowd growing near the blue colour shelter. Its been drizzling for a few hours now and at this altitude its getting cold and building up an appetite.

The grilled pork sausage with chilli sauce just hit the right spot. the sausage is slightly sweet so it not to everybody's liking.

Did not get the chance to take a picture of the steam buns with pork and bamboo shoots but it was good as well. Love the vintage feel of this town area.

There is a walterfall at the where the cable car is taken to the top of the hill.

This tilework can be seen across the road from the Beitou train station.

Beitou is a hot spring resort town. Most of the new hotels in New Beitou offers rooms with private tubes and a few with unisex tubes.

Take a look at the road side drain water hole design which uses the natural spiral of the water in its design.

Don't really know what this plant is called but have seen it a few time. Looks like a colourful cabbage.

It was interesting to see the circle opening being used on the train.Its most unexpected desigfn detail.

This dog seems to be waiting for its owner. He is seen sitting there for a long timer.We walked past him when visiting the 7Eleven store.
